It was Built during the Qing Dynasty,  most foreigners like to stay or visit the building.  The Prime Minister Tony Blair visited the hotel in 1999. It's a nice and famous hotel in Beijing and China. 

Hao Yuan Guest House is locted in the alley named Shijia hutong in the Dongcheng District of Beijing.It was established in 1984 and is menaged by the All-China Women's Federation. 

The House was initially built during the Qing Dynasty, designed in the typical courtyard style of Beijing.In Terms of its architectural value,every thing here has been preserved almost intact, revealing the original style and craftsmanship of Qing Dynasty architects.

It is reported that Hao Yuan Guest House used to be the residence of the potentate of the Qing Dynasty, eunuch Li Lianying, and it also served as the residence of the great patriot Zhang Zizhong. After the founding of the People's Republic in 1949,it was appropriated to the All-China Women's Federation,and later converted into offices for shuai Mengqi,Deng Yingchao and Kang Keqing respectively.

With China's opening up since the late 1970's,the Hao Yuan Guest House has received all kinds of travelers from many different nations, including presidents, celebrities, ambassadors to China correspondents as well as hordes of travelers. 

In 1988,The former Viceroy of Hong Kong once stayed here for a short time. And in 1999,the Hao Yuan Guest House again received worldwide appreciation for being chosen as the designated place for Lady Blair to host a banquent when premiere of Great Britain Tony Blair visited China.

There is an old saying in Beijing: if you can't climb the Great Wall, you are not a real man. As it becomes more and more difficult to locate a tranquil courtyard like this one amid the skyscrapers of the modem metropolis of Beijing it would be also regretful if you could spend on or two nights in this remnant of old Beijing.

The Hao Yuan Guest House offers you an ideal location with convernent transportation, and of you spend your night in the serene courtyard, it will surely relieve the stress of a day full of traveling and sightseeing.

Near to Dongdan street and wangfujing street. About ten minutes from the Forbidden City and the famous Wangfujing shopping district. Bus 111,108,116 and 807 all have stops nearby

The suites in the inner courtyard: They are the best,most luxurious and largest suites. The Chinese style sumptuous furniture and the graceful decoration in the suites match each other in harmony. Made of rosewood, the furniture was carved with dragons and phoenix. The round armchair decorated with carved glossy ganoderma on a marble stone back, theunicorn decorated armchairs, accompanied with Deluxe Suite (a long narrow table placed under the central scroll hung in the middle of the wall of the principal room), Chinese paintings, blue and white porcelain vases and a cabinet for treasures, set off by the blue simple carpet, add brilliance to each other.

The guestroom in the east wing:
Here you will find a frames wooden bed, carved with the picture"8 gods and goddess across the sea"(an ancient Chinese fairy tale) and a long bed-like seat (for sitting or lying onduring the day) carved with plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum. These make the guest room very poetic and picturesque.

The layout of this guestroom is simple and clean.The carved screen and the fan hung on the wall make it a place of unique beauty

We loved this hotel! The courtyard was a beautiful place to enjoy a cup of tea and relax. It is a gem! Small, charming traditional courtyard hotel. the staff can speak English well. It's very convenient and an easy walk to Wangfujing Street. I highly recommend this hotel.
